Description
This is a 48 X 60" oil painting painted on a Gallery Wrap Canvas. I was honored to be given permission by FAA Photographer, Terri Waters to use her stunning image called "Winter Sunset at Mylor Bridge" found in her Gallery titled "Cornwall" as a reference for my painting.

Safely moored to the shore as the earth turns away from the light,
A little vessel is sailing into the dreamy infinity of the night,
Riding high upon the glowing mirror of the becalmed sea and sky,
Prow pointed to the east; it is a balm to my searching eye.
For as the sea’s murmuring whisper fills my hollow hold with heartfelt sighs,
I vow to return before morning and be as a little ship at sunrise.
Then, I will loosen all my knots and turn-about, safely moored no more,
As I sail away into the light, reflecting on the far distant shore.
