Artist's Description
This painting was started en Plein Air at the Cartecay Vineyards Annual Crush Festival. I painted the charming ladies with their appropriate fun hats sporting grape clusters. A lovely time was had by all listening to music in the North Ga Mountains, sipping wine and enjoying the lovely weather provided by Florence. The original is a 10 x 10 oil painting, linen canvas.
About Jan Dappen
Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and serves on the committee to help organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics.
