Original oil of Angelique Comes to Life on canvas. It always amazes me along this Journey of Life how our paths meet and friendships are made. We get busy with our lives and then our paths cross again. I met Paula Millet at North Cobb High School back in the 90s. I was a Substitute/Supply Teacher and knew most of the teachers that worked there. We have stayed connected through Facebook. I wasn't really surprised when I learned she was writing after retirement, however, I was amazed at her talent and skill in keeping her readers' interest . Paula has written several books, but her Series of Angelique really impressed me. During a difficult period in my family's life...my grandson's fight with Cancer and the passing of my daughter and mother, Paula was diagnosed with Cancer too. We kept each other in our prayers and tried to encourage each other. Paula has had a difficult battle and is still fighting. Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and serves on the committee to help organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics.
