Davenport Lake is a Lake in the Dyer Gap area of Gilmer County, Georgia. It is a private lake, 17 acres and is crawling with largemouth bass. It also has bluegill, other brim and snapping turtles. It was built during the Great Depression. Its elevation is 1.634 feet. It is also within walking distance of my house and used to be a favorite area to fish until the Corps of Engineers turned the property over to the remaining property owners. It is a gorgeous sight to behold, especially in winter. I used my palette knives mostly to capture the textures and reflections of this landscape/waterscape painting.
