Tumbling Waters -Carters Lake -North GA, this is a 24 x 18 ORIGINAL OIL on Linen. I painted this site after my husband and my daughter's family and I needed a break from Covid's Social Distancing this fall.It will be included in the Pre Paintings for our local Plein Air Auction. We took a trip out to the boat ramp at Carter's Lake and as their website describes, we found: A lush forest filled with fern and pine., sweet-scented forest air, A towering bridge with great views and a set of spilling waterfalls. There was definitely a whole lot of beauty packed into this relatively short and easy for some hike on Tumbling Waters Nature Trail at Carter's Lake in Gilmer County, GA.
Carters Lake is a 3,200 acre reservoir located in Northwestern Georgia that is owned and managed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers. Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund.
