Artist's Description
Trees Keeping Vigil Over Creek
This is a 30 x 40 oil on gallery wrapped canvas of the creek that runs in front of
our cabin in Ellijay, GA. It is painted on all four sides without a frame. The creek is
Harper Creek and is one of three creeks that feed Lake Davenport. The creeks are
surrounded by large Pines, Hemlocks, Oaks and beautiful Rhododendrons trees
that tower and lean over the creeks and produce gorgeous flowers in June. The
creek allows me to find joy and peace with some quiet time and endless
compositions to paint. On the other side of the spectrum, it can become quite
busy and an outlet for fun as I traipse through this cold, rushing creek with my
grandkids.
