Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
This is an 18 x 24 Original Oil Painting on gallery canvas of a Very Special Man that lived life differently from most of us but left an impression on all the lives he touched. The family requested I paint this commission to be presented at his Memorial Service, so I had less than a week to paint him. I usually become attached to most of my paintings. This one was no different but I felt like I could feel his fun loving spirit. As my own daughter has Down's Syndrome, I felt it an honor to be able to do this one last thing for him. From what I understand, he was a loving son, brother, cousin and Uncle. Any profits from this painting will be donated to the Intermediate Care Facility...Parkwood Developmental Center in Valdosta, GA that provides a home and individual specialized training to their special needs residents. Many thanks for visiting my Gallery

Inspiring write up, Jan. I worked with special ed all my life as a special education teacher. I wrote a book Lean against the Wind that describes the joy they brought to me. I felt the parents were blessed with an eternal innocent spirt. Lovely as can be. FAV!

This painting is quite an achievement considering the time you had to do it, short notice and it's importance. This is an excellent portrait which you can be proud of Jan!
