‘‘This is an image of a 28 X 22 Original Oil on Canvas. Canvas Prints and other products are available. This little chapel was originally built in Mobile, AL and the family that had history with the church moved it to a place on private property near Hamilton, GA. The Chapel is the Levi Chapel. ML says the chapel has no power, no plumbing but plenty of God and it is very peaceful to the soul. I actually inserted the bales of hay and changed the image to Autumn. A friend and Poet from Ellijay was kind to create the following poem to accompany my painting. Many thanks to Lucy Harris for the Poem below, to Mary Lou Cooper Marth for taking the pictures and for A.Levi for allowing us to have access to this lovely Chapel to capture with camera and permission to paint.
We Will Come Rejoicing”
Yea, though it is sunset and the forest is growing dark,
“We will come rejoicing” with thanksgiving in our hearts.
For the hay is baled now and though the wind will soon turn cold,
The treasure of the cosmos yet fills our souls with gold.
For even when the beautiful fields whisper of sorrow’s broken life,
We will remember the free blessing of the holy flame of light.
Yea, though day is done and the night is falling, heavily and dark,
We will come home with shouts of joy and adoration in our hearts
