Little Church Across the Waters Poster

Sunlight bathes a quaint stone building, casting shadows on a pathway lined with lush greenery and colorful flowers. A doorway opens invitingly, suggesting a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The side entrance of this charming church in Mylor Bridge on Bell’s Hill was captured en plein air. I am most grateful for Steve and Terri Waters for inviting us to stay with them so we could truly be part of the Cornwall life and culture and we enjoyed every minute of their hospitality and friendship. We are blessed to have two such amazing friends. This oil painting was almost finished in the UK but finishing touches were applied at home in my studio.

Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild,now TAG, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and often helps organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics.
