This is a personal favorite of mine of Pink Knob Mountain outside my cabin in Ellijay, GA. I am honored to announce that A large 48 x 36 is on loan to the GA State Capitol Building in Atlanta until 2021. It can be seen in the office of the Speaker of the House. The 24 x 18 original is available for sale. The clouds were lifting in beautiful colors as the evening sun was setting. The thin layers of clouds almost completely obscured Pink Knob, but she managed to peek thru a little. The original is an oil painting,gallery wrapped on 24 x 18 linen canvas. This is my fifth version of Pink Knob. The mountains are in the Cohutta Wilderness and we enjoy watching the wildlife that comes sniffing around our home.
Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and serves on the committee to help organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics. She has been recognized locally and internationally for the following awards: 2023 - SUN BREAKING OUT AT LAKE CHATUGE - Artist Excellence Award, Fusion Arts 8th Annual International Juried Waterscape Competition 2023 - SUN...
