Meet "Bubba", original oil 12 x 16. While participating in the "Plein Air in the Mountains" event in Ellijay, GA, I was fortunate to paint at Build an Ark Animal Rescue Foundation. It serves as a foster home to baby sheep, goats, rams, alpaca, donkeys, mules,ponies, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, baby chicks as well as dogs and cats (and that’s just scratching the surface) allows them to roam and have a peaceful existence in the beautiful North Georgia Mountain at Coosawattee River Resort in Ellijay near Carter's Lake.Donations to the Rescue Center would be greatly appreciated as they are desperate need of help. https://www.youcaring.com/buildanark-756135
Bubba and I clicked right away and he stayed near me all day, playing with my brushes, hee-hawing and just begging for attention and carrots. About Jan Dappen
Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild,now TAG, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and often helps organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics. She has been recognized locally and internationally for the following awards: 2024 - LOBSTERING AT SCHOODIC POINT- 1ST Place, Gilmer Arts Juried Exhibition Competition in May, Ellijay, Ga.
