I am very fortunate to live in a cabin in the woods in the mountains of North Georgia and we have many four-legged visitors (two, if you count the turkeys) to our home. This is Scruffy, named because he always looked a little 'scruffed up' when visiting. He was a regular to our place and neighbors. Black bears are beautiful. About Jan Dappen
Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is on of the founding members of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, now called TAG, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery Building Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and always participates in the Art, Plein Air in the Mountains event the third weekend of May every year.Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics. She has been recognized locally and internationally for the following awards: 2024 - LOBSTERING AT SCHOODIC POINT- 1ST Place, Gilmer Arts Juried Exhibition Competition in May, Ellijay, Ga....
