Description
"Believe thru the Storm" is an original 30 x 24 gallery oil, gallery wrapped and painted canvas. This painting is especially meaningful to me because as I was painting the sky, it just seemed to take on a life of its own and made me think of how comforting my faith has been to me during the stormy journey we have all been on for the past couple of years and before. It wasn't my intention in the beginning to paint a sky with clouds brewing.
This little chapel was originally built in Mobile, AL and the family that had history with the church moved it to a place on private property near Hamilton, GA. The Chapel is called the Levi Chapel. My friend Mary Lous says" the chapel has no power, no plumbing but plenty of God and it is very peaceful to the soul." Many thanks to Mary Lou Cooper Marth for taking the pictures and for A.Levi for allowing us to have access to this lovely Chapel to capture with camera and permission to paint. The original photo of this church was used in another painting called "Spiritual Harvest" with a fall scene and the church was facing the other way. I switched the perspective to approach the church from the right side instead of the left. It was a challenge worth doing. This painting was excepted in the Gilmer Arts 2022 Annual Juried Competition in Ellijay from January 7 until the end of February. Not for sale at this time.
