This is a printing of black bear in oil on canvas.
I am very fortunate to live in a cabin in the woods in the mountains of North Georgia and we have many four-legged visitors (two, if you count the turkeys) to our home. This is Scruffy, named because he always looked a little 'scruffed up' when visiting. He was a regular to our place and neighbors. Here Scruffy is enjoying the abundance of blackberries. July is the peak month for blackberries in the North GA Mountains and also the peak time when the Black Bears come through picking out the best. Black bears are beautiful. There are obviously more colors than just black in these awesome animals...deep blues, browns, blacks and white. Here, scruffy is actually staring at us through a picture window and you can just feel his domineering presence. Wildlife is another favorite hobby of mine, watching and painting.
