Original oil of a scene where My husband and I took a break with friends while touring through Arizona. These little orange flowers were quite charming and looked as if they were dropped from the heavens in little clusters across the beautiful landscape of Arizona. After a little internet trolling, I think I have discovered the name of this beautiful shrub.. Dwarf Indian Mallow, Dwarf Abutilon, known also as Scientific Name: Abutilon parvulum, it grows and flowers in the Spring, Summer, and Fall up to 16 inches tall.. Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and serves on the committee to help organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics.
