This was a special project done in collaboration with Award winning Photographer and TV Director, Steve Procko ( Blue Ridge)on a Historical Documentary referencing the short time frame of Two bridges standing at the same time in 1920 in McCayesville, GA on the Toccoa River. Steve‘s research of the historical documents, interviews, photography from above and below surface of the Toccoa River provided the information that the old covered and the new steel bridge stood at the same time for a brief time in 1920-1921, hence the name- “A Brief Moment in History- Two Bridges in McCaysville.“ This Year McCaysville celebrates their 100th year of their town in History! Jan Kornegay Dappen is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Columbus, Ga and presently a local Ellijay artist living in the North Georgia Mountains. She is a founding member of the Gilmer Fine Artists Guild, Secretary of the Gilmer Arts Board and Chair of the Golf for the Arts Tournament-New Gallery/Education Center Renovation Fund. She loves painting en Plein Air and serves on the committee to help organize the Plein Air, Art in the Mountains. Jan primarily works in oils but also teaches classes in Acrylics.
