Description
This is an Eastern Box Turtle that my husband, daughter and I found in the middle of a gravel road in the North Ga mountains. We took the turtle to a friend, Jim because he is doing a study on turtles and is trained in wildlife rescue. He took the turtle to the Chattahoochee Nature Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for treatment. He had blood on the shell and leg. This picture was taken by the CNC and if anyone purchases anything, all of the monies will be donated to the CNC. ABL had a fractured leg and infections in the eyes. One of his hind legs had to be amputated. His eyes have been treated and he will remain in the CNC for the winter. When he awakens in the Spring, Jim will pick him up and bring him home. We will have a Releasing Party and ABL can return home. Turtles are endangered, so if you see one in the road and it is safe to pull over and stop, please take them to the other side in the direction he was going! Thanks to Jim and the CNC, ABL will do fine as a Tripod!
